CIS 201 Systems Analysis & Design
Project 6
- Read Chapter
6 and Part 3 Financial Analysis Toolkit in your textbook.
- Read and work through the Case-Sim: SCR
Associates on page 271. At the end of the simulation session
there is a task list of things you need to do. You may
complete all of the tasks, but I will be only asking for specific
task items for grading purposes. Please be sure to submit
only the task items I request.
- Note: remember you need a password. The
password is sad7.
- For this simulation session please
submit the following tasks:
- Task #3: Create an Excel
spreadsheet showing the financial analysis for the TIMS system.
You will need to review the questionnaire summary and the
cost-benefit summary in the SCR Data Library to gather the
numeric data or use this
document that has a little more data. You will need to create four worksheets:
a 3 year worksheet summarizing the costs and revenues for the
project, a payback analysis worksheet, a return on investment
worksheet, and a net present value worksheet.
- Good news I have created an Excel
template for you to use. It should be compatible with
older versions of Excel such as Excel 97- 2003. Also, it
can be updated in Excel 2007. Here's the
link to the template file. I have done most of the
work for you. I also have put a lot of descriptions,
hints, and notes on the worksheets to help you. But... I
strongly recommend that you come to this week's lecture where I
will go over the TIMS financial analysis and all of the numbers
in the template file.
- Notes:
In the template file
there are four worksheets. In each worksheet you need to
fill in the light green cells with the correct numbers.
Then Excel will automatically perform the calculations and draw
the line chart for you.
The Part 3 Financial Analysis Toolkit
gives an excellent example. Please be sure to read it as
well as Chapter 6.
-
Remember some of you have never done this before. So
don't get too frustrated. Do the best you can and submit
something by the deadline. I will review it and if you are
on target, then you will get your check mark/points for the
project. If you miss the mark, then I will give you
feedback and allow you to resubmit the assignment. Now
this is not a license to be sloppy or lazy. I can tell
when that is happening. Give it a good honest effort and I
will help you. Also, if you have questions please feel
free to email me.
