STUDENTS:
More and more employers are requiring project management skills. Microsoft Project is the leading project management software. This hands-on course will show the student how to create, track, and report project plans using Microsoft Project.
Certificates/Degrees: CIS 202B is strongly recommended
for the Systems Analysis & Design Certificate and A. A. Degree. CIS
202B is required for the Systems Analysis & Design "mini
certificate." See attached certificate

certificate. Also, CIS 202B meets the Microsoft Project course
requirement for the Global Project Team Management certificate/degree in the
Business Administration department. See

PMI Certification: CIS 202B can be used toward the education/training hours to qualify for the PMI certification test.
The class will cover the
following topics and more:

· Creating project plans including setting up the baseline · Set the project and resource calendars · Add dependencies to tasks and perform critical path analysis · Assign project resources to tasks including cost information · Use different project views and reports to track, monitor, and control the project plan · Use different project views and reports to communicate project status · Import/export project data |
BONUS: Microsoft Project 2010 Professional software available for free or a minimal fee through the CIS MSDN program

Prerequisites: None.
Recommendations: CIS 102 or
equivalent with grades of Credit or "C" or higher,
or appropriate work experience. Familiarity with Windows file management tasks (saving, copying,
renaming, uploading files, and unzipping files) and Office software.
