Susan McDonald, M.S., CCC-SLP
Department Chair and Program Director

Susan McDonald has served as Department chair and Program Director of the Cerritos College Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Department since 2011. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Western Washington University in 1997 and Master of Sciences degree in Communication Sciences at the University of Vermont in 1999. She has worked in a variety of settings with the pediatric population, including school districts, private clinics and home health. In 2002, Susan was appointed as a Speech-Language Pathology Fellow in the Interdisciplinary Leadership Education and Health Program through the University of Vermont, in which she conducted community-based assessments and interdisciplinary diagnostic processes for children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition to her work as a pediatric SLP, she has earned a teaching certificate in English as a Second Language (ESL) and has taught ESL and accent reduction to adult clients in both the US and overseas. In 2022, she earned a Master of Science degree in Instructional Design and Technology from California State University-Fullerton.
