            ACTG450 Auditing

Students assume the role of auditor and examine the ethics and legal liability of the CPA profession.  Students also perform an in-depth study of internal controls, analysis of clients’ accounting system, evidence statistics sampling techniques, audit work papers and flow charting techniques.

 

            ACTG211 Introduction to Accounting

This is the first course in basic procedures and theory of business accounting using the double-entry system to study the accounting cycle for business.  Students will learn the basics of debits and credits, the accounting cycle, payroll accounting, special journals and bank reconciliations for service and merchandising companies

            BA 212 Fundamentals of Accounting II

The study of accounting information continues with particular emphasis on accrual vs. cash accounting, cost-volume-profit analysis, ratio analysis, accounting for overhead and cost allocation.

 

            BA 217 Accounting for Non-Accountants

To provide a comprehensive non-technical accounting course for the business minor and others interested in a survey of financial and managerial accounting techniques.

 

            BA 220 Introduction to Financial Management

This course introduces the basic processes, principles, tools and concepts of finance.  Topics include financial analysis, financial forecasting, profit planning, budgeting, working capital management and capital budgeting.

 

            BA 310 Principles of Marketing

This course introduces the theories, concepts and terms that marketers use in their daily planning activities.  The course begins with an overview of strategic marketing planning.  Afterward, the strategic elements of the marketing plan (target definition, product strategy, distribution strategy, promotion strategy and price strategy) are examined in greater detail.

 

            BA 311 Personal Selling

The application of personal selling theories with a focus on basic steps in the selling process: prospecting, qualifying, presentation, objections, closing and follow-up.

 

            BA 411 Marketing Strategy

Strategic marketing involves the development and use of marketing plans. These plans consist of two main components: (1) a situational analysis which is based on research of a company’s external and internal environments, and (2) tactical decisions regarding product strategies, pricing, distribution channels and communications for a product, idea, good or service,  In strategic marketing, students learn the process of creating marketing plans.

            BA 051 Accounting Procedures I

            BA 052 Accounting Procedures II

This is the second course in basic procedures and theory of business accounting using the double-entry system to study the accounting cycle for business.  Students will learn more in-depth analysis of accounts receivable, allowance for doubtful accounts, depreciation, and inventory valuation.

 

BA 212 Financial Accounting II

Studies liabilities associated with payrolls, recording payroll transactions, special payroll records and forms, accounting for and pricing inventories, costing of capital assets, and current and long-term liabilities. Covers partnerships and the formation and division of earnings, changes in ownership and liquidation, capital acquisition and reporting, dividends, stock splits, donated capital, earnings measurement theory and practice, reporting income taxes on financial statements, corporate bonds, corporation accounting principles, and cash flow statements.
