***There are couple of conventions the College is using to set up the subdirectories within each web directory.  The directory structure that follows is designed to hide certain pages such as old pages, include pages, etc. from search engines so that only useable links are returned in the results. A text file in the root directory of www.cerritos.edu will exclude these subdirectories for your web site. If you choose to change the directory structure of your site, you should use html META tags to exclude pages from search engines if you have any pages to exclude (and you probably do).***

***Subdirectory Conventions:

• /hidden is used to store old pages, out of date pages, work in progress, and any other pages that you don't want browsed. Permissions (properties) are set to disallow browsing and scripts and executable files.
• /styles is used to store template pages, style sheet pages, include pages and any other pages that you don't want in search engine results but that need to be shown or tested in a browser.  Permissions (properties) are left at the default setting which allow pages to be browsed and scripts to be run.
• /_private is automatically created by FrontPage to store files like results from HTML forms, etc.  Leave this at the default setting.
• /images is where all your graphic and other media files are stored.***
