Cerritos College is conveniently located off the 605 Freeway at Alondra Boulevard, near the interchanges of the 91 Freeway, the 5 Freeway, and the 105 Freeway.  We offer a complete court reporting program that prepares students to become court reporters and to work in alternative careers that have recently developed in the court reporting arena, such as realtime reporting, CART reporting, police text entry, medical text entry, scopist/proofreader, and captioning.  Even though the alternative careers are blossoming, there is a real need for court reporters RIGHT NOW and well into the future.

Cerritos College offers a court reporting program that allows you to earn your AA degree while you build your stenotype skills.  Day, evening, and weekend classes are available.  We have a state-of-the-art computer lab, highly qualified teachers, an active court reporting club, and a great campus.  You will find everything you need to succeed is right here.

Get the best seat in the house!
Becoming a court reporter can put you
exactly where you want to be in your life.

There will always be a need for good court reporters.  This is the Information Age!   No other method so accurately and efficiently captures the spoken word as the court reporter with a computerized stenotype machine and computer.  Almost instantaneously, the court reporter can transform the spoken word into printed text.  In a world moving as rapidly as ours, the possibilities are endless for this skill.  One of our former students captions the backstage speeches at the Academy Awards, a brand new application.  Do you know who does all that closed-captioning on your favorite television shows?  Court reporters who are working in the new and growing field of broadcast captioning.  Court reporters have the best seat in the house in the courtroom and in lawyers' offices reporting depositions.  There is plenty of opportunity here to enter into one of the traditional careers -- or create your own!

Cerritos College has belonged to RAPS since its inception and supports this fine association of public schools.  RAPS is composed of teachers from various public colleges who work together to promote student success.  We are very proud of the opportunity the public schools provide.
