BIOLOGY 200 COURSE INFORMATION (010803) INSTRUCTOR:
DESCRIPTION: BIO 200 is one semester of a two part course designed primarily for biological sciences/pre-med majors. This portion of the “Principles of Biology” series is a 5 unit class covering a survey of living organisms, select organ systems, and environment/ecology.
PREREQUISITES: BIO 120, ZOOL 120, BOT 120, MICRO 200, OR EQUIVALENT AND
CHEM 111 (concurrent enrollment OK). All students must provide documented evidence of prerequisites before their enrollment in class is validated.
Students unable to provide documentation of prerequisite requirements
by the SECOND CLASS MEETING may be “bumped” from class by a qualified petitioner.

The following is a tentative breakdown of tests and assignments.
Approximately 60% = Lecture exams; 40% = Lab assignments, quizzes, and projects.

MAKE-UP WORK: Quizzes/assignments may not be made up. You will, however, be able to
“throw out” a low quiz/assignment. Make up lecture exams will be given at the instructor’s discretion - only emergency situations will even be
considered. Please give instructor prior notice of absence, if possible and/or be prepared to provide documentation of excused absence.
CHEATING …will not be tolerated. Students found cheating may be given a zero
on an assignment or immediately dropped from course with a FAIL
grade. In all cases the decision of the instructor is final.
