Women's and Gender Studies


Welcome to the Cerritos College Women and Gender Studies Department

The Cerritos College Women and Gender Studies department delivers a high-quality program committed to social justice. Our program is designed to help students understand and dismantle sexism, racism, homophobia/heterosexism, transphobia, and other forms of institutionalized oppression. Course programming meets the needs of a widely diverse student population. Students are able to take Women and Gender Studies courses to meet general education and transfer requirements in the areas of Social Sciences, Fine Arts, Humanities, and Ethnic Studies. Courses, degrees, and certificates are offered in on-campus and online formats.

The Women and Gender Studies program can lead to a variety of careers including community organizer, social worker, lawyer, Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, political lobbyist, political strategist, and many more.
