When Thomas Cheval was a freshman at the Cerritos College, he showed everyone how great of an all-around athlete he was. Cheval used the close competition at the 2014 CCCAA State Championships to help push him toward establishing the nation's best point total among community college athletes... The Chinese New Year celebration at Cerritos College will bring together community and diverse cultures. - African Drummers Kick off Black History Month
The Black History Month Celebration officially kicked off on February 3 with a drum performance by African drummers. Students also enjoyed soul food fried chicken and mac n' cheese. “Each One Teach One” is an African proverb that urge all to share knowledge with each other in the times blacks were denied an education. The Financial Aid team, that keeps winning the campus Food Drive, was pleasantly surprised when welding student Malachi Tangard and Health, Fitness/Wellness Professor Carrie Edwards brought a beautiful flower-shaped trophy made of metal created by welding instructor Jason Foral and student Malachi Tangard. Cerritos College will hold its fifth annual Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony on Thursday, March 3 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Norwalk.
