    The Outstanding Classified Employee Selection Committee named Toni Grijalva as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for March 2016. Toni began her career at Cerritos College in December 1984 in the Community Education department as a short-term temporary employee.   • Earth Week Activities Educate Campus on Environment

    College celebrated Earth Week April 19 - 21 with various events and activities. Panel discussions, Food Garden presentation, guest speakers, film screenings and demonstrations taught participants how they can take part in environmental protection.  Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.  This year's Earth Week activities were the largest Earth Day celebration held on campus.

  • Re-entry Resource Program’s Community Resource Fair a Success

    Cerritos College's Re-entry Resource Program hosted its Community Resource Fair on April 21. Nearly 20 local social service and community resource agencies and Fortune 500 companies participated. Representatives at each booth provided information and giveaways and answered questions about their services.

  • "I Can Afford College" Watch and Win Sweepstakes

    The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office launched the "I Can Afford College" financial aid awareness campaign's contest during Financial Aid Awareness Month. The Watch and Win Sweepstakes showcases the current campaign’s new ad, “A Little Bit of Magic,” and will run now through May 22, 2016 – winners will be announced in early June. The lucky grand-prize winner of this sweepstakes will receive a $5,000 scholarship that can be used for community college costs, such as fees, books, supplies and other education-related expenses.  A second place winner will receive a MacBook Air and the third place winner will receive an iPad. Additionally, gift cards will be awarded weekly to contest participants.
