  • Pair of former Falcons qualify for Rio Olympics

    Cerritos College has a cool SoCal connection to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics with not one – but two – former Falcons set to compete in the Track & Field competition. Ameer Webb and Whitney Ashley will be making their first appearance in the Olympics.   • Subaru Donates High Performance Engines for Import Technician Training Program

    Cerritos College's Automotive Import Technician Training Program recently received eight engines donated by Subaru of America. The 2.0 turbo engines from the 2015 WRX will be used for valuable hands-on training. Subaru’s District Parts & Services Manager Frank Ceccacci, Field Service Engineer Don Heck, and Field Quality Assurance Manager Jim Sciolla presented the engines to the College's Automotive Instructor Leonard Glick.   • Board of Trustees Honors Retiree Ruben Cortez

    The Cerritos College Board of Trustees recognized retiree Rube Cortez for his 15 years of service to the College at the July 20 board meeting. Ruben began his career in 2001 as a part-time custodian and filled in for those on absent or vacation and spent time on grave yard helping the cleaning. In November 2006 he was hired as a full-time custodian and first covered the Learning Resource Center and then moved to the Science building.   • Monique Valencia, Program Assistant, Named Employee of the Month of June 2016

    The Outstanding Classified Employee Selection Committee named Monique Valencia as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for June 2016. Monique began her career at Cerritos College as a short-term temporary employee in August 2009. She was hired as full-time classified employee in 2015 as a program assistant for Student Success. Monique has been a great adition to the Center for Teaching Excellence.... Link to the story about Monique

  • Steven Kim and Tom Chu Named Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Team Award


    The Outstanding Classified Employee Selection Committee recognized Steven Kim and Tom Chu as recipients of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Team Award for their outstanding team effort. Steven and Tom form the Cerritos College technical team that installs and supports A/V equipment campus-wide.  This requires that they have the ability to work independently to simultaneously resolve issues across the campus, while also being able to effectively collaborate on challenging tasks... Link to the story about Steve and Tom

  • Lynwood High School Student Receives Engineering Design Technology Certificate


    Carlos Henriquez, a 12th grader from Lynwood High School earned a Cerritos College Engineering Design Technology Certificate of Achievement. Carlos began taking classes three years ago through the Cerritos College Special Admit/College Bridge Program that allows high school students to take Cerritos College classes and earn college credit.   • Change is Coming - Free In N Out in September  

    Free In-N-Out will be on campus in September. Please see flyer for details. Students will need to have the Fall sticker on their Cerritos College ID to receive the burger, chips, and drink. Staff will need to line-up with the students to be fair and consistent. We appreciate your anticipated patience!
