  • DENSO Donates Nearly 700 Auto Components To Cerritos College Automotive Program

    Cerritos College’s Automotive Technology Program recently received more than 700 automotive parts donated by DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc., an affiliate of DENSO Corporation, a global automotive components manufacturer. The parts will be used for hands-on student training, and some components will be shared with local high school automotive programs, including Norwalk and Artesia High Schools...   • Halloween Office Contest is Back! 

    It’s that time again for our Halloween Office Decorating and Costume Contest! This year’s contest is scheduled for Monday, October 31. The categories are: 1) spookiest office, 2) most creative office, and 3) office with the most staff in costumes. This year, we will encourage more students to stop by and see your offices. The winners will enjoy an office lunch party, courtesy of Public Affairs. We will be visiting participating departments between 2-3:30 p.m. and are so excited for the festivities!     As Los Angeles County’s unemployment rate increased to 4.9% and approximately 248,000 people remain unemployed, job seekers will have an opportunity to speak with more than 40 employers at Cerritos College's semi-annual Job Fair. The free Fair will be held at the College on Tuesday, October 18, 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Library/Falcon Square sidewalk. Attendees can explore current job opportunities, apply for some positions on site...Link to the full story about Job Fair

  • 1,100 Backpacks Raise Awareness About Suicide Prevention

    Active Minds student club hosted the national Send Silence Packing exhibit on September 29. The emotionally powerful exhibit of 1,100 backpacks representing the number of college students who die by suicide each year was displayed in Falcon Square. Students walked through the exhibit of backpacks and joined discussions on site to learn about mental health, suicide prevention, and where they or those in need can go to seek help.

  • Subaru Race Car Greets Cerritos Falcons

    The Automotive Technology hosted a Subaru World Rally race car 2016 WRX STI on campus September 29. The display travels around the country to support and promote the World Rally Championship race series. Also on display was a Subaru trailer equipped with factory accessory performance parts. Students, community members, and staff enjoyed sitting in the real race car and taking pictures with it.
