  • Festival of Asian Cultures Coming to Cerritos College April 19!

     

    The Festival of Asian Cultures at Cerritos College will bring together community and diverse cultures. To celebrate the various cultures of Asia, the event will showcase performances, activity booths, workshops, free food, giveaways and prizes.   • Men's Tennis Conference Awards Go to the Falcons

    Sasha Krasnov and Nikita Katsnelson won their second consecutive South Coast Conference doubles championship when they defeated teammates Aleks Trifunovic and James Zhang, 8-3 on Monday.   • Women's Track & Field Record set at SoCal Heptathlon Championships

    Continuing to improve each time she competes in the heptathlon, Cerritos College sophomore Juanita Webster (Redlands HS) won the Southern California Heptathlon Championship on April 5 for the second year in a row and set a school record along the way. Link to the full story about women's heptathlon (external link) Webster broke another school record over the weekend (external link).

  • Pizza & Politics with Majority Leader Ian Calderon Raise Political Awareness

     

    Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon visited campus for the first Pizza and Politics event on Tuesday, April 11. Calderon provided an update on the state assembly and answered student questions regarding immigration, college tuition, etc. The event helped raise political awareness among participating students and get involved in issues that matter to them. The event was the first in the series. The Majority Leader plans to return to Cerritos College for another student dialogue.

    The new Vet Net Ally Committee invites you to attend the first half-day Vet Net Awareness seminar with trainer Dr. Marshall Thomas, Director and Creator of the Vet Net Ally Program, Cal State Long Beach. The seminar focuses on the needs and concerns of military service members and student veterans.  At the end of the seminar, participants are given a decal to display their allyship to campus veterans and active service members. The presentation features Dr. Veronica Bloomfield, Ph.D. Chapman University, Adjunct Professor-CSULA, and Lynwood School District administrator.   • It Ain’t Nothin’ But The BLUES Coming to Cerritos College Theatre

     

    The musical revue It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues tells the history and evolution of the Blues music, how it began from African beats and rhythms and what is now known as “traditionals.” Without the blues, there would be no modern country & Western, rhythm & blues, rock and roll, hip hop or rap.
