Michael Gonzalez Named Employee of the Month of November 2017
The Outstanding Classified/ Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Michael
Gonzalez as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the
Month Award for November 2017.
Michael began his career at Cerritos College in the Financial Aid Department and as a Financial Aid Technician Program on January 12, 2005.
Michael displays an important role in the Financial Aid office, he serves at risk students. Michael has taken on this added responsibility with welcome and has stepped up to the plate by attending meetings and trainings in order to learn about current available resources and best practices. This knowledge has directly benefited students in helping to guide them in achieving their academic goals and future sucess.
Michael shows these students empathy, gives them hope, and provides guidance. It is evident that when a student has met with Michael he or she leaves the office feeling empowered and valued.
"Michael, your dedication, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students and staff are exceptional. The administration, staff, and students appreciate your personal attributes and outstanding efforts. We are proud that you are a Cerritos College employee and we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Dr. Jose Fierro, as he presented the award to Michael.
