Forensics teamThe Cerritos College Forensics Team competed at the International Forensic Association Tournament in Montreal, Canada in March. The team travelled through snowy conditions to compete with students from schools across North America. Team captain Anthony Gomez won fifth place in impromptu speaking, and Manuel Valladares was a finalist in the same event. First-year competitor Dominique Joy Bautista placed eighth in International Public Debate (IPDA). Cerritos College was one of only four community colleges that competed at the tournament, facing mostly university-level competitors.

Between rounds of competition, students were able to learn about the history and culture of Montreal. “It is certainly an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life and I am very happy I had this opportunity as part of my education,” said Elijah Teixeira.
