College for Youth Program Offers New Classes in Science, Computers, Professional Cooking, Baking and More
Registration now open; over 200 summer classes available
WHAT: Registration for the summer 2018 College for Youth program is now open at Cerritos
College. Classes begin June 18 and continue through August 10.
The College for Youth program offers classes for kids grades 1st through 12th in reading and writing, math, science computers, college prep, career exploration, enrichment, music, art, athletics, and swimming. This summer, the College will lffer more fun, new science classes, including Ooey Gooey Science, Creepy Crawley Creatures, Foundations of Physical Science, Secrets of the Earth, and Intro to Chemistry. Other new classes include Reading Comprehension using song lyrics, My First Animation, Google Tech Tools, Professional Cooking and Professional Baking.
Educational classes offered through this program will get children excited about learning
and familiar with a college campus. There are four, two-week sessions that run through
the summer, Monday - Friday, and all classes are age appropriate. Classes begin at
8 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. Students can attend one or two classes, or stay
all day and enjoy four different classes. A free, supervised lunch break is offered,
and extended child care is available.
