College for Youth Program Offers New Classes in Science, Computers, Professional Cooking, Baking and More

Registration for the summer 2018 College for Youth program is now open at Cerritos College. Classes begin June 18 and continue through August 10. The College for Youth program offers classes for kids grades 1st through 12th in reading and writing, math, science computers, college prep, career exploration, enrichment, music, art, athletics, and swimming... Dental assisting students

Dental Assisting Students Provide Free Care to People in Need

The Dental Assisting students volunteered at the California Dental Association Cares event for people in need that do not have access to dental health care all day on April 27, beginning before sunrise at 5:30am. The students assisted in the pediatric area, restorative dentistry (fillings), oral surgery, x-ray, translation, and triage departments. Students putting their skills to good use for a great cause!

Former ASCC President Miles Aiello Giving Back to Community

Former student body president Miles Aiello, now studying at UC Berkeley, founded a company that raises scholarship funds for immigrant high school students. New Product Development 101 Students Pass New Additive Manufacturing Associate Certificate Exam

Seventeen students in Dr. Miodrag Micic’s NPD 101 class are one of the first in the world to take the newly established Additive Manufacturing Associate certification exam by SolidWorks. The new certification tests basic knowledge of today’s 3D printing technologies needed for rapidly growing job, additive manufacturing technician. Congratulations to the first cohort of Cerritos College Certified SolidWorks Additive Manufacturing Associates!

DREAM Club members

DREAM Club Students Presents at Conference

Students from Cerritos College DREAM Club presented at the third annual Supporting Access to Higher Education for Immigrant & Undocumented Students Conference at San Diego State University in April. DREAM Club advisor Dr. Lynn Wang and the students co-presented on her research on how front-line student services professionals affect college access for undocumented students. In addition to presenting at the conference, students attended workshops on immigration 101, scholarship search, and how colleges can continue to support immigrant and undocumented students.

Woodworking to Host the Annual Woodworking Celebration

The 12th Annual Woodworking Celebration on Saturday May 19, 10am-2pm will feature student gallery, raffles, award presentations, live demos, silkscreen printing, and free tacos. On Friday, May 18, the Preview Event for Cerritos College faculty and staff will feature free root beer floats. Evening Child Care Available Beginning Fall 2018 Semester
