Cerritos Complete Wins the 2018 Excelencia Award
Cerritos College’s official California Promise Program Cerritos Complete won the 2018 Examples of Excelencia Award in the Associate Level category at the Celebración de Excelencia event on October 11. Examples of Excelencia is the only national effort to identify and promote evidence-based practices that help accelerate Latino student success in higher education... Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Raises Funds and Awareness
The College hosted the inaugural Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on October 10 to celebrate those who have fought the battle against breast cancer, and to educate the community about the disease. Speakers included the City of Norwalk Vice Mayor and Falcon alumna Margarita Rios, who spoke about her own battle against breast cancer, and Assemblymember Cristina Garcia.
Undocumented Students Week of Action
During the week of October 15-19, 2018, Cerritos College will engage in the statewide week of advocacy and activities to support and build awareness about undocumented students. Halloween Office Contest is Back!
It’s that time again! The Halloween Office Decorating and Costume Contest categories are: 1) spookiest office, 2) most creative office, and 3) office with the most staff in costumes. The winners will enjoy an office lunch party, courtesy of Public Affairs. Student judges will be visiting participating offices on October 31 between 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Sign up for the contest via email by Thursday, October 25!
LGBTQ+ History Month to Present Queer Coffee
LGBTQ+ History Month will present Queer Coffee on Tuesday, October 16, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in Student Center. Connect with other LGBTQ+ staff, faculty, students, and allies at Cerritos over some coffee and treats. More events are planned for the LGBTQ+ History Month. View the flyer

The 2018 Jazz Showcase, featuring Yamaha artist Tamir Hendelman, brings together faculty, students, alumni, and the community for a benefit concert to raise funds for student scholarships and purchase of new pianos.
