Falcon Wrestling wins Third Straight SoCal Team Dual Title
For the third season in a row, the Cerritos College wrestling team captured the Southern California Team Dual Championship. The Falcons, who will be taking on Fresno City College for the third year in a row on November 18 in the Central Valley, won the state title in 2016 in Fresno and lost in the finals last year at home. Homecoming 2018
Hundreds of alumni, families and friends gathered at Homecoming -- the College's largest annual celebration of reunions on October 20. Not only did the student clubs put on quite a show with their colorful floats around this year's theme "board games," but the football team added an exclamation point to the night with a thrilling 50-21 win over San Diego Mesa College. Dental Hygiene Students Provide Free Dental Cleanings
Cerritos College’s Dental Hygiene students provided free dental care to those in need at the Care Harbor LA event on October 15. During the event, more than 3,000 uninsured, underinsured, and underserved participants received free medical, dental, and vision services... Link to the full story about Dental Hygiene
Undocumented Students Week of Action
Cerritos College engaged in the statewide week of advocacy and activities to support and build awareness about undocumented students last week. The activities included free immigration consultation, workshops, fundraising event, webinars, and resource fair.
Halloween Office Contest is Back!
It’s that time again! The Halloween Office Decorating and Costume Contest categories are: 1) spookiest office, 2) most creative office, and 3) office with the most staff in costumes. The winners will enjoy an office lunch party, courtesy of Public Affairs. Student judges will be visiting participating offices on October 31 between 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. Sign up for the contest via email by Thursday, October 25!
LGBTQ+ History Month to Present Out@Cerritos
LGBTQ+ History Month will present Out@ Cerritos employee panel, featuring a diverse set of panelists that hold a variety of positions on campus. Each panelist will share stories about their LGBTQ+ identity in the context of their career paths as well as experiences of challenge and perseverance. Latinx Awareness Month to Feature Hidden Patriots and Olmeca This Week
The 1968 East LA High School Walkouts presented how the Chicano student movement created chicano studies on October 16. Hidden Patriots: The Vietnam War in Mexican America is coming on October 23, 11 a.m. in S 201, and Olmeca, rap artist and poet will be on campus on October 25, 11 a.m. in S 201.
