President's Fall Speaker Series Two Features Goal-Setting Strategies 

President Dr. Jose Fierro is hosting the Fall Speaker Series: A Falcon’s Guide to Success with Alfred Rodriguez, lead custodian. The speaker series is aimed to help empower all employees to grow personally and professionally. Faculty, staff, and managers learned how to set and achieve personal and professional goals in the second of the series on October 26. More events are scheduled in the speaker series. Paint Nite Raises Funds and Awareness for Dreamers

The Paint Nite Fundraiser wrapped up the successful Undocumented Students Week of Action at Cerritos College, raising nearly $1,000 for scholarships while participants reconnecting with their artistic side. The week full of activities included Dream Act application assistance, legal services, postcard signing requesting to codify DACA, and the fundraising event.

Latinx Awareness Month to Feature Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

Latinx Awareness Month hosted presentations Hidden Patriots and Olmeca, Rap Artist and Poet last week. Each event examined the Vietnam War and social justice from Latin American perspective respectively. The celebration continues. MEChA's Dia de Los Muertos will be on Thursday, November 1, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Falcon Square, featuring alters, food, goodies, and face painting.

LGBTQ+ History Month Presents Out @ Cerritos

LGBTQ+ History Month featured an Out @ Cerritos employee panel, featuring a diverse set of panelists that hold a variety of positions on campus. Each panelist shared stories about their LGBTQ+ identity in the context of their career paths as well as experiences of challenge and perseverance.
