What made you come to Cerritos College and why?

I went to Cal State LA, because I feel like in High School the only thing pushed was like a 4-year program. I didn’t really know about technical schools, so I kind of just... That’s the only thing to do. Just go get a 4-year degree.
I was interested in law, so my goal was to go to law school and become a lawyer and start with Poly Sci. But as I was through the third year, I realized that I didn’t really enjoy that much reading which is what law is.
I also liked cars, so I just decided to maybe just study cars. That happened my third year of college, so might as well finish my degree and then that’s when I enrolled here at Cerritos College.
Never worked on a GM car with General Motors. Never owned one, so kind of random. Had a good conversation with Joe Mulleary, and he seemed pretty cool. And now I’m here now almost done.

STUDENT ADVICE

Just come in here every day. Learning hands on has helped me the most. With auto, you can always read a book, but you’re never going to learn anything unless you’re working with it hands on and putting it into practice. What we learn here, we apply in the dealership times ten. Just doing it over and over again.

INSIGHT

There’s a lot of money in this industry. So if you dedicate yourself, don’t stress yourself out because when you come into this industry there’s a lot of stress. Especially when you go out on your own.
Find yourself a nice place where everybody is friendly with each other, because there are some dealerships where there’s a lack of team work. You will grow as a technician in a place where everyone is willing to help not just you but also each other.
