In observance of Juneteenth, campus will be closed virtually and physically on June 18.

Minimum Competency


The Cerritos College Faculty Federation (CCFF) and the Cerritos Community College District have signed a COVID-19 MOU which states that faculty teaching online must meet a Distance Education (DE) minimum competency requirement in order to teach remotely during an emergency such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. 

In order to meet the DE minimum competency requirement, faculty must complete training in the key areas of “Regular and Effective Contact” and “Accessibility.”

Faculty may meet the requirement in either of the following ways:

Complete the self-paced Canvas modules on “Regular and Effective Contact” and “Accessibility.” Upon completion of the modules, faculty should email screenshots of the final survey for each module to (with the Subject line: “Minimum Competency”).

NOTE: Faculty should contact if they encounter difficulty accessing the self-paced modules in the Canvas learning management system.

Submit documentation of previously completed DE training in the areas of “Regular and Effective Contact” and “Accessibility” to for validation (with the Subject line: “Minimum Competency”).

NOTE: Faculty who have previously completed CTX workshops should contact for additional information about applicable workshops and the appropriate checklist for identifying dates of attendance.
