DH 114  Dental Hygiene Clinical Sciences I   (2 units)

Class hours: 2 lecture

Prerequisite:  Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program

Corequisite: DH 115C

This course introduces the student to the methodology and rationale for patient assessment and data collection.  It includes patient histories, determination of vital signs, extra oral and intra oral examination, tissues, examination of the teeth and appropriate documentation of the data.  The student will receive essential information for assessment of a patient prior to the formulation of the dental hygiene treatment service plan.
