Does the originator and requestor have to be the same person?

No.  Often the requestor is a faculty member, student, or co-worker that happened to notice the problem. One benefit of indicating the requestor is that if the work requested is specialized, the tradesman assigned to the job will have a contact.  Please make sure that you list the requestor's contact information in the "work requested" field if you want the tradesman to contact the requestor directly.

What do I do if I don't know the room number of the location in the building I am placing a work request for?

Not a problem!  WebMainsaver allows you to double-click on the "building-room number" field to pull up the help menu.  From there, you simply type in the building name, and a list of all the rooms will pull up.  If you are still unable to find what you are looking for, we do ask that you put down the building location (building name abbreviation) and provide specific information on the room in the "work requested" field.

How can I check to see if a work request has been made into a work order?  I don't remember if I received a confirmation e-mail.

Fortunately, you don't have to have the work request number to look up information.  All you have to do is log into WebMainsaver, go to the work request lookup, and search for work requests by building.

I'm one of two designated users in my area.  How can I verify that a work request was placed if the other person is absent and I can't ask them?

Not to worry.  You can log into WebMainsaver and look up work requests by the building name, room number, or by originator (the person who input the work request).  You can further narrow the search by listing how many days worth of work requests you want to display.

How can I check to see if a work order has been completed?

You can log into WebMainsaver and check the status of your work order at any time. The easiest way to do a lookup is by the work order number.  Otherwise, you would need to do a lookup based on the location or originator.  If the work order status is "CLO", the work order has been closed/completed.

I had indicated on the work request a specific due date.  Will the work be completed by that date?

The Facilities Department does their best to have the work completed by the specified deadline.  Please be aware that we may not be able to meet the deadline specified on the work request if we need to order parts for repairs, or if we need to schedule the work around classes.  Generally if there will be a significant delay with a work request, you will be contacted by the Facilities Manager.

How can I research past work in my area?  Can I check the work history of a specific classroom, for example?

Absolutely.  If you would like to see what work was performed in a certain location, you would simply go to the work order lookup and input the specific location (classroom number, office number, etc.).  The WebMainsaver system will display all work orders for that location.

I have a safety issue that I am putting in a work request for, and there is no way for me to indicate on WebMainsaver that it is a "safety issue".  How can I express the importance of my work request and that it needs immediate attention?

The best way to indicate that you work request is for a "safety issue" is to select "1-IMPORTANT" in the priority drop-down box; then indicate in the "work requested" area that your problem is a "safety issue".  Also, make sure that you call the problem into the Facilities office after you place the work request so that we can notify the proper Facilities personnel to handle the safety issue.
