Canvas Newsletter - February 2017

Canvas Newsletter

New in CANVAS!

Every few weeks, Instructure improves Canvas and sends notices to Canvas administrators. Usually these improvements are “behind the scenes” but sometimes these improvements affect how you use Canvas.

There are a few improvements that have been made available to faculty in the last couple of weeks. The first is that you can now display announcements on your home page if you use Pages as your Home page. To do this, go into Settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “more options”. Add a checkmark in front of “Show recent announcements on Course home page” and then select the “Number of announcements shown on the homepage” and then be sure to click on Update Course Details.

Comments on Announcements are now disabled by default however instructors can enable comments if desired on a per announcement basis

Other changes are in the Dashboard, No Submission and On Paper assignments don’t display in the To Do list past their due date, and white is not accepted as a course background color.
