Math 80 Intermediate Algebra

Units: 4

Prerequisite: MATH 60 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or higher or “Pass” or completion of the Math assessment/placement process with a score eligible for MATH 80.

This course explores the representation of functions and relations as graphs, formulas, and tables. The types of functions studied will include linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational,

exponential, and logarithmic. These functions will be used in solving a variety of equations, systems of equations and application problems. Other topics include: the algebra of real and

complex numbers, inequalities, and an introduction to conic sections.
