Anna DeMichele is director of the Choral and Vocal program and Chair of the Department of Music at Cerritos College.
She has also held appointments at Scripps College and The Claremont Graduate University.
She is Director of Music at California Heights United Methodist Church in Long Beach
and maintains an active schedule as a vocal adjudicator, guest conductor and vocalist.
Since beginning at Cerritos College in 2004, Dr. DeMichele's choirs have grown both
in number and scope. The Cerritos Choirs are often invited to participate in local
concerts and festivals and members of the choir have been regular participants in
the annual conference honor choir of the Music Association of California Community
Colleges. The Cerritos College Collegiate Chorale was selected to participate in the
annual Disneyland Candlelight Ceremony and Processional in 2013.
Dr. DeMichele holds the degrees Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Arts in conducting
from The Claremont Graduate University and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance
from California State University, Long Beach where she also received the Bachelor
of Music degree in Choral/Vocal Education and the California Teaching Credential.
She has served at the state level as a grant reader and reviewer of music performing
groups for the California Arts Council and has spent several summers as the chorus
master for the Classical Musical Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria. Dr. DeMichele is
a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Kappa Lambda honor societies.
