NORWALK, Calif. – March 14, 2016 - The Cerritos Community College District is accepting applications to fill vacancies for the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.  The Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee was established to oversee the expenditure of money for the construction, repair and modernization of campus projects. This committee ensures that the bond proceeds are expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure CC and Measure G and that no bond proceeds are used for teacher or administrative salaries or any other operating expenses.

The three vacancies are for members of a bona fide taxpayers’ association, senior citizens’ organization or support organization.  All appointees must be 18 years of age or older.  No members may be employees of the college, official of the District, or any vendor, contractor or consultant of the District.

The members will serve two-year terms. The legal process calls for solicitation of applications after which the College President will review the applications and make recommendations to the Cerritos Community College District Board of Trustees. The Board will make the final decision.  Bond committee members are not compensated for their service.

Applications are available online at: www.cerritos.edu/bond/bond-oversight-committee/ and must be completed and delivered by Friday, April 1, 2016 to the Office of the President, Cerritos College, 11110 Alondra Boulevard, Norwalk, CA  90650.
