NORWALK, Calif. – December 9, 2016 – The Cerritos College Board of Trustees re-affirmed the College's mission statement to serve all diverse students and declared the school a Safe Campus at its regular meeting on December 7.

The resolution approved by the Board of Trustees declares the College a Safe Campus for all students regardless of their immigration status, and reaffirms its support of student-focused California and federal legislation that allows eligible children of undocumented immigrants to pursue higher education in the United States.

"We will continue to do all that is possible within the law to support our students, and we will continue to equally serve all of our students regardless of their immigration status, social economic background, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation " said President/Superintendent Dr. Jose Fierro.

"It is important for students to know that we are a safe place where we value diversity, decency, hard work and respect for all people, and no matter your background all students are welcome here."
