Cerritos Complete participantsNORWALK, Calif. – August 27, 2018 – Cerritos Complete, the College’s California Promise Program, welcomed 1,014 new students to the fall 2018 semester. Cerritos Complete began as a pilot through the College’s K-16 Bridge program in 2015 with a cohort of 242 students. The program was officially established as the College’s California Promise Program in 2016, targeting district high school students to increase college completion rates.

Cerritos Complete allows eligible students who graduate from any high school within the district to participate. Once in the program, students earn a free year of college through a merit-based scholarship. To date, more than 2,500 students have participated.

“Cerritos Complete ensures higher completion rates by providing a clear pathway for students to transition from high school to college. The goal is to offer strong support services so that students can ultimately obtain a degree or certificate on time,” said Dr. Jose Fierro, President/Superintendent, Cerritos College.

Cerritos Complete was selected as a finalist for the prestigious Examples of Excelencia Award and Bellwether Award earlier this year.
