NORWALK, Calif. – December 6Bob Livingston, 2018 – Cerritos College Business Administration Professor Bob Livingston was named the Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year 2018 by California Business Education Association (CBEA) at its annual conference. The award recognized his many years of contribution to student success through innovative teaching, community service, and dedication to program excellence.

A former successful business executive, Livingston has taught business administration at Cerritos College for 32 years. He was instrumental in introducing the award-winning Open Educational Resources to the College to improve the success of at-risk students by reducing costs of textbooks. As a result, the Business Administration department estimates it is saving students $1 million each year. Livingston has been active in CBEA for many years, having served as president from 2016-2017.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Livingston. “CBEA is a great organization that provides leadership and support for business educators across the state.” He adds, “It must be recognized that an award like this is not earned by only an individual. It reflects a team of colleagues in our Department, our Dean, Rachel Mason, and the support of the Cerritos College administrators and staff.”
