Campus community honors veterans with Veterans Week festivities

The Veteran’s Resource Center (VRC) held a week-long celebration honoring military service men and women on November 6-9. At the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Marine veteran Esperanza Zanabria served as student speaker and shared her journey as a student veteran at Cerritos College. On Wednesday, the campus community learned about the services offered by VRC with lunch and giveaways. The celebration concluded with the Marine Corps' 248th birthday celebration and the passing of the cake ceremony, featuring the birthday cake created by the Culinary Arts program.

Erik Duane honored by OC Supervisors for his efforts to connect veterans during COVID-19

Senior Technical Support Specialist Erik Duane was recognized by the Orange County Board of Supervisors for his efforts to connect veterans during COVID-19 on November 7. Erik honorably and faithfully served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserves from 1990 to 2020 and was deployed numerous times to war zones in southwest Asia, Somalia, and Iraq... A Streetcar Named Desire coming to the Performing Arts Center

Coming to the Performing Arts Center at Cerritos College, Tennessee William's Iconic play "A Streetcar Named Desire" is about Blanche DuBois, her sister, Stella, and Stella's husband, Stanley. It's a story about what happens when a woman who fancies herself a Southern belle falls from her state in society and has to live with her poorer sister and her husband.
