Accessibility is our professional development theme this fall as we work together to create learning environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Whether you're just beginning your accessibility journey or looking to strengthen your existing skills, ACCESS @ Cerritos provides a simple, practical pathway to learning. Faculty who complete the series will earn the ACCESS @ Cerritos Digital Badge—symbolized by Falcon Franco holding the key that opens doors to learning—recognizing your commitment to accessible, inclusive teaching.
The ACCESS @ Cerritos professional development series focuses on six essential accessibility principles that every instructor can apply:
- Alternative Text
- Clear Descriptive Links
- Captioned Videos
- Easy Structure
- Supportive Styling
- Student-Ready Documents
These topics are taught through free micro-courses developed by the California Community Colleges Accessibility Center (CCCAC) in partnership with California Virtual Campus / Online Education Initiative. Each self-paced course takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and awards a digital badge upon completion by the CCCAC.
