Kinesiology - Athletics, Health, Kinesiology, and Physical Education

Greetings and welcome to the Division of Kinesiology which encompasses the Departments of Adapted Physical Education, Athletics, Health, Kinesiology and Physical Education. Our division is designed to give students the knowledge necessary to develop lifestyles that will lengthen and enhance the quality of their lives, while learning and applying components of health, skills in team and individuals sports, motor movement, theories of sports and lifelong fitness to name a few areas.  Kinesiology, formally known as HPEDA, offers an array of online and on campus opportunities in traditional lecture format and also laboratory classes that focus on activity, participation and hands-on learning.  Students can complete degrees and certificates in the field of Kinesiology.

Our certificate programs in Community Health Worker, Fitness Trainer, Fitness Specialist, Athletic Injury Management, and  Athletic Trainer Aide are well established and meeting the needs of our students.  Our Kinesiology AAT degree and Public Health Science AS-T degree fast tracks our students into Kinesiology and Public Health major programs at California State Universities. Students can also complete an AA degree in Health Education and transfer to UC or CSU.

Within the athletic department, 19 sports are offered to the Cerritos student body. More information about our athletic programs can be found at our Falcon Athletics.
