ASSOCIATE ARTS IN JOURNALISM FOR TRANSFER

This degree is for those students who want to move through the system quickly and then transfer to a California State University in Journalism.* Complete 18 units in the major, general education courses (Plan B or C) and any electives needed to reach 60 transferable units. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher (with a C or higher in major courses) and you can graduate with a degree with a guarantee.

ASSOCIATE ARTS IN JOURNALISM

Community college likely to be the extent of your higher education? This associate degree might be for you. Complete the 24 units in the major*, any one of the general education patterns and additional units for a minimum of 60 and you have earned a degree that can open doors for you. Complete Plan B or Plan C and you can choose to transfer to a CSU or UC.

ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE IN FILM, TV & ELECTRONIC MEDIA FOR TRANSFER

The AS-T in Film, TV & Electronic Media emphasizes tactile experience in the creation of film productions, live television, podcasting, webcasts, radio programming, and both audio and video content designed for digital and portable delivery systems. Complete 18 units in the major, general education courses and any electives needed to reach 60 transferable units. With this degree, students will be prepared for seamless transfer to the CSU system.

CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT - JOURNALISM

This certificate is not as complete as a degree, but might be right for those who just want a journalism package. It is also aimed at those who already have a degree in another area and want to learn more about journalism. Great for entry level job preparation, this certificate does not require completion of a general education package.

CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT - PUBLIC RELATIONS

This degree is aimed at the student preparing for entry-level employment in public relations. This certificate does not require completion of a general education pattern. It is also good for those who already have a degree in another area.
*The Journalism associate degrees and certificates are Chancellor's Office approved and will be recorded on your diploma. They follow similar patterns with major courses with core courses in the major, publication experience, and department requirements/electives.

VERIFICATIONS OF COMPLETION

Verifications of completion are patterns of study that can serve as milestones for those seeking an associate degree. They are low-unit patterns focused on specific areas of study that may intrigue you. These verifications are not State Chancellor's Office approved and will not show up on your diploma, but they will help you feel like you are accomplishing goals. We offer verifications in
