Math Learning Center
Welcome to The Math Learning Center (MLC) !
In order to adapt to the varied and diverse needs of Cerritos College students, the Math Learning Center (MLC) offers semi-independent mathematics courses.
We offer Survey of Mathematics (Math 104), College Algebra (Math 114), Trigonometry (Math 140), and PreCalculus (Math 155).
The format of these courses offers maximum flexibility for students with time constraints and/or students who wish to progress more rapidly than normal lecture classes.
All mathematics classes in LC-209 are SEMI-INDEPENDENT classes. These classes cover the same content as other Mathematics courses, but use an entirely different method of instruction.
Instead of attending regular lectures, students read and learn the material on their own. Students take exams according to the schedule given on their class syllabus.
Semi-independent courses are similar to HYBRID math courses where part of the course is completed online and part of the course is completed in-person. All exams are taken in-person in the Math Learning Center (LC 209). In-person one-on-one tutoring is also available Monday through Thursday.
These classes are recommended for students who are independent learners.
