The Commercial Music program is about discovering what you are passionate about and creating possibilities for careers.
The programs consists of courses designed to prepare you for a career in the music industry working as a sound engineer, sound designer, live engineer, music producer, product manager, and other opportunities.
As a Commercial Music student you will learn to operate produce music on the following software platforms: Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase, and Ableton Live. You will learn to operate recording consoles by Avid and Yamaha.
If you wish to enhance your resume, the Commercial Music program offers Avid Pro Tools User and Operator certification as well as the Avid Certified Support Representative certification. The program also offers you training to earn the Dante Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
Your entry into the Commercial Music program begins with enrolling in MUS 110, Music Technology Fundamentals, in the Fall semester.
