NORWALK, Calif. - November 17, 2025 - Cerritos College continues to deliver unmatched value to workers and employers across our local communities with a new $850,000 workforce training grant from the California Employment Training Panel (ETP). As one of the region’s strongest workforce partners, Cerritos College remains the top choice for employers seeking high-quality, industry-responsive training that drives real results.
This new award builds on the college’s proven excellence. Under a previous $500,000 ETP contract awarded in 2024, Cerritos College trained over 500 employees, with 61 percent of them earning wage increases after completing their training. With this renewed funding, the college will expand its reach, providing training to an additional 750 workers in high-demand fields including aerospace, manufacturing, logistics, food production, construction, and healthcare.
Widely regarded as the most reliable workforce training provider in Southern California, Cerritos College collaborates closely with local employers to design customized, results-driven programs that strengthen the regional economy. Most training occurs onsite, with ETP funding covering or significantly reducing costs for eligible California businesses, ensuring more companies in our communities can afford the very best training available.
The Cerritos College Corporate Training Center supports more than 1,200 employees annually, partnering with leading companies such as Arrowhead Products, Bristol Farms, Hydraflow, LeFiell Manufacturing, Marukan Vinegar, RBC Bearings, and Superior Grocers. These long-standing partnerships underscore the college's reputation as the region’s premier provider of high-impact workforce development.
“Securing this ETP award affirms what our communities already know—Cerritos College is the best at delivering high-quality training that helps workers thrive and businesses grow,” said Dr. Jose Fierro, President/Superintendent of Cerritos College. “We’re not just educating employees; we’re strengthening local industries and building a more resilient, prosperous future for the region we proudly serve.”
