Financial Aid Staff Receive Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Team Award
The Outstanding Classified Employee Award Committee recognized Jenny Mejia and Ulysses
Valencia as the recipients of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Team Award for
their outstanding team effort.
Jenny and Ulysses have taken the lead to go above and beyond in providing quality financial aid outreach services to current students on campus by providing workshops, awareness fairs, and classroom presentations. They also coordinate and present to high school counselors, students, and parents for the Cerritos Complete program.
They are organized, dedicated, and enthusiastic about increasing the awareness about financial aid resources and simplifying the process for students. They work hard to keep up with the requests from faculty, and high school counselors. They do all of this outreach work in addition to their files and counter shifts. As a team, they have created some excellent flyers and posters to help students understand the financial aid process. They have also built strong relationships in the community which have received positive feedback from off campus administrators and counselors.

The administration, staff, and students appreciate your outstanding efforts. We are proud that you are a Cerritos College employee and we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Board President Carmen Avalos, as she presented the award to Jenny and Ulysses.
