Program Overview
Equal Representation in Construction Apprenticeship (ERiCA)
Build a Career. Build Financial Opportunity. Build What’s Next.
Interested in a career where you can earn while you learn, develop valuable hands-on skills, and build toward long-term advancement? Cerritos College’s ERiCA Grant connects women, non-binary individuals, and underrepresented communities with apprenticeship pathways, resources, mentorship, and support designed to help more people enter and thrive in the trades.
The Equal Representation in Construction Apprenticeship (ERiCA) Grant helps create more equitable pathways into careers in the building and construction trades. ERiCA is designed to reduce barriers that have historically prevented women, non-binary individuals, and underrepresented communities from entering, succeeding in, and advancing within construction careers.
Who We Serve
ERiCA is designed to expand access and opportunity for people who have traditionally
been underrepresented in the construction industry, with a particular focus on:
- Women interested in construction and skilled-trades careers
- Non-binary individuals
- Individuals from communities historically underrepresented in the building trades
- Current and prospective apprentices who may need additional support entering or remaining in apprenticeship
- Parents and caregivers who may face childcare or other barriers to completing training
Whether you are just beginning to explore the trades, considering apprenticeship as your next career move, or already participating in an eligible apprenticeship program, our team can help you better understand available pathways and resources.
This grant provides essential support, including funding for childcare, outreach efforts, and community-building resources, ensuring that historically underrepresented groups have equitable access to these career pathways.
The ERiCA Grant is available through 2027 and is designed to support individuals pursuing the Field Ironwork Apprenticeship Program through the Continuing Education Division. If you are enrolled in the Field Ironwork Apprenticeship Program, you may qualify for this grant.
