Individual Dual Enrollment

Program Overview

Individual Dual Enrollment

Individual Dual Enrollment allows K–12 students to independently enroll in Cerritos College courses while continuing to attend their regular school. Students may choose from available college courses based on their academic goals, interests, and readiness.

Unlike courses offered through a high school partnership, Individual Dual Enrollment students select and enroll in courses from the Cerritos College class schedule. Students must complete the required admission and enrollment steps each semester.

Apply to Cerritos College

Start by completing the online Cerritos College application. This creates your college student record and provides the student ID number you will need for the remaining steps.

  1. Select Apply Now and create an OpenCCC account.
  2. Complete the Cerritos College application.
  3. Select Submit My Application on the final page.
  4. Check your email for your Cerritos College student ID number. It is typically sent within 24–48 hours.

Request Approval for Your Classes

Before you can enroll, you must receive permission from your parent or guardian and high school to take college courses.

  • Complete the Dual Enrollment Form for the semester you plan to attend (English | Spanish).
    • Both pages 1 and 2 must be completed and submitted.
  • Include the course name and five-digit class number, also called the ticket number, for each requested course. Ticket numbers can be found in the Cerritos College Class Schedule.
  • Obtain signatures from the student, parent or guardian, and high school counselor or administrator.

A new Dual Enrollment Form is required each semester. Incomplete forms cannot be processed.

Submit your Dual Enrollment Form to the Dual Enrollment Team

Upload your completed Dual Enrollment Form using the online submission form. All required sections must be completed, and both pages 1 and 2 must be included for your submission to be considered complete.

Google Form

Incomplete submissions will be returned and must be corrected and resubmitted before they can be processed.

Enroll in Your Classes

Once your Dual Enrollment Form has been processed, you will receive an email confirming that you are cleared to enroll from Admissions and Records.

  1. Log in using your Cerritos College student ID number. Your initial password is your date of birth in MMDDYYYY format.
  2. Check MyCerritos for your registration appointment or the open enrollment date.
  3. Enroll in your approved classes through MyCerritos.

K–12 students do not receive priority registration. Have alternative classes available in case your first-choice course is full.

Step 4: Pay Your Student Fees

K–12 students are responsible for paying the required health fee each semester. Additional ASCC and Student Representation fees may also be charged but can be waived by submitting the appropriate forms:

The $46-per-unit enrollment fee will be waived after your Dual Enrollment Form is processed. Please allow 5–7 business days for the fee waiver to appear in your MyCerritos account.

Any remaining student fees can be paid online through MyCerritos.
