Freshman Year Requirements
Year 1 (Fall, spring)
- Students must enroll in and successfully pass a counseling (COUN 101B/COUN 200/ACLR 101) class by the end of Fall!
- Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA each semester (Term GPA)
- Students must enroll in and successfully pass (grade of C or better) math and English/ESL courses
in Fall of their first year
- Students must stay enrolled in math and English/ESL until they complete the requirements for their major!
Fall Requirements
- Students must use their priority date to secure high-demand classes!
- Students must meet the enrollment deadline for the Fall semester, which is June 30th.
- Students can choose to enroll as part-time (fewer than 12 units) or full-time (12 or more units) in their first year.
- Students must enroll in and successfully complete (grade of C or better) math and English/ESL courses until they reach transfer level (e.g., STATS C1000 or PSYC 210, and English C1000).
- Students must enroll in and successfully complete COUN 101B, COUN 200, or ACLR 101 (if they didn't take it in Summer). Students must complete the class assignment for the Comprehensive Education Plan (CSEP).
- Students must follow their Comprehensive Education Plan (CSEP) and contact the Cerritos Complete Promise Program if they make any changes with our counseling team.
Spring Requirements
- Students must use their priority date to secure high-demand classes!
- Students can choose to enroll as part-time (fewer than 12 units) or full-time (12 or more units) in their first year.
- Students must follow their Comprehensive Education Plan (CSEP) and contact the Cerritos Complete Promise Program if they make any changes with our counseling team.
- Students must enroll in and successfully complete English/ESL courses with a grade of C or better (if following the ESL sequence).
- Students must submit FAFSA or DREAM Act Application and list Cerritos College for 2026-2027. This is a requirement each year.
