Eligibility
Graduating high school seniors and adults completing a high school equivalency from our partner schools who:
- Are first-time college students who have never previously attended college, excluding dual or concurrent enrollment; and
- Are California residents or AB 540-eligible.
Eligibility checklist
- Apply for SUMMER as a “First-Time Student in College (after leaving high school)”
on the CCCApply application.
- Save a copy of your CCCApply confirmation number
- Use your personal phone number and personal email address to avoid issues with two-factor
authentication. Do not use parent/guardian information!
- Contact us if you have not received your Cerritos College Student ID number within 2-3 business days.
- Dual enrollment students are required to re-apply for the summer term as “First-Time Student in College (after leaving high school)”.
- Submit FAFSA or CA Dream Act application each year

- Cal Grant priority deadline: March 2, 2027
- Login to MyCerritos to access the online orientation
- Complete the asynchronous Falcon Edge Orientation
- Save a screenshot or PDF of your completion page for your records
- Look for the message: "Congratulations! You’ve completed your Falcon Edge Orientation" and ensure all sections show a checkmark.
- Save a screenshot or PDF of your completion page for your records
- Enroll in COUN 101B, COUN 200, or ACLR 101 for summer session.
- Enroll in a college/transfer-level English/EMLS course and a math course for the fall semester in May.
- Earn a “C” or higher in Counseling, English, and Math by the end of the fall semester.
