Commencement Information for Attending Guests

THE 68TH ANNUAL COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
WILL BE HELD ON

FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM

Cerritos College Falcon Stadium

11110 East Alondra Boulevard, Norwalk, California

Stadium gates will open to guests at 3:30 PM.

Reminder to all attending guests:

  • Strollers, balloons, noisemakers, large signs, banners and flags of any kind, are some items that will not be admitted into the stadium for the ceremony. Please see section below:  "Prohibited Items" for additional prohibited items.
  • All bags will be checked by security at the entrance.
  • For the safety of your children and others, children should be attended to at all times.
  • Cerritos College is a 100% smoke and tobacco-free campus. This includes vaping.
  • Respect those around you. Every guest is here to celebrate their graduate. Please help create a respectful and friendly environment for all guests, graduates, and staff. 

Commencement is a joyous celebration for all. We ask that graduates and guests stay through the entire ceremony. Leaving early not only disrupts the ceremony, but it is distracting to surrounding guests and the graduates.

  • A guest ticket will be required to enter the 2026 Commencement ceremony.  
    • Please speak to your graduate for tickets. 
    • Children 2 years and under, who will be lap-seating, will not need a ticket. 
  • Stadium gates will close when/if capacity is reached.

Commencement is a joyous celebration for all and we ask that graduates and guests stay through the entire ceremony. Leaving early not only disrupts the ceremony, but it is distracting to graduating students.

Stadium Entrance:

  • Your ticket will specify the stadium gate you will enter through and the side you will be seated in, either Home or Visitor gate.
    • You will not be able to cross to the other side once you are in. 
    • Re-entry is not permitted.
  • No kids or guests are permitted on the field or stage with graduates.

General Seating:

  • General seating is offered on both the Home and Visitor side of the stadium.
    • Please note that bleacher seats do not have armrests or chair backs. 
  • Keep all aisles/stairways clear - do not stand, sit, squat, or gather at the rails.
  • To ensure the safety of children and others, children must be attended to at all times.

Security Check and Safety

 All bags will be searched by campus police at the entrance of the stadium. Guests entering through the gates may be searched.

Not Permitted at The Event:

The following will not be permitted in Falcon Stadium:

  • strollers/ car seats/ coolers
  • confetti/ balloons/ air horns or noisemakers/ inflatables/ umbrellas
  • signs larger than 12"x12"
  • banners or flags of any kind
  • alcohol/ drugs
  • open/glass containers
  • smoking/ vaping (Cerritos College is a 100% Smoke and Tobacco Free campus)
  • drones
  • any other related paraphernalia 
  • pets (including emotional support animals) are not allowed in the stadium. Only service animals are permitted.

Policy on Food and Beverages

All guests and bags will go through a security check. Outside foods and beverages are not permitted and will be confiscated at the security check. Food and beverages may be available for purchase at the stadium snack bar. Drinking fountains are located throughout the stadium. Alcohol is strictly prohibited. Security will use discretion in regard to unsealed beverages and reusable water bottles. 

Smoke and Tobacco-Free Campus

Cerritos College is a 100% smoke and tobacco-free campus. Smoking, including the use of cigarettes, cigars, little cigars, snuff, snus, water pipes, pipes, hookahs, chew, electronic cigarettes, vaporized liquids, or other emission-producing products or devices is prohibited. Anyone who is engaged in the above, while on property, may be asked to exit the Cerritos College premises.

First Aid

Medical personnel are located on the north side of the stadium. If you need assistance, please ask the nearest staff member.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located underneath the Home and Visitors bleachers.

Graduation Gifts

Graduation gifts will be available for purchase from the college bookstore (in-person or online) beginning in April.

In Consideration of Other Guests

Please be considerate and respectful of other guests and Cerritos College staff
Do not block anyone's view at any time during the ceremony, and please refrain from use of profanity.

  • Keep all aisles/stairways clear. do not stand, sit, squat, or gather at the rails. 
  • To ensure the safety of all guests children must be attended to at all times.
  • Unruly, disruptive or offensive/ disrespectful behavior is strictly prohibited.
  • Guests who appear intoxicated, under the influence of illegal substances or exhibit any other illicit or belligerent behavior will be escorted out from the campus.

Smoke and Tobacco-Free Campus

Cerritos College is a 100% smoke and tobacco-free campus. Smoking, including the use of cigarettes, cigars, little cigars, snuff, snus, water pipes, pipes, hookahs, chew, electronic cigarettes, vaporized liquids, or other emission-producing products or devices is prohibited. Anyone who is engaged in the above, while on property, may be asked to exit the Cerritos College premises.

**Due to construction, campus parking is extremely limited. We highly encourage and recommend that guests and graduates carpool**

Arrive Early

Carpooling is strongly encouraged!

Parking will be free on Commencement day.

Please be aware that the streets surrounding campus especially Alondra Blvd. will experience heavy traffic. To help avoid delays and parking congestion, graduates and guests are encouraged to arrive early and park in Lot 10, accessible from 166th Street.

ADA Parking

The parking area directly in front of the stadium (lot 1) will be reserved exclusively for ADA parking. To use these spaces, vehicles must display a valid disabled parking placard or license plate.

Guests with mobility challenges are encouraged to bring their own walkers or wheelchairs. Please note that Cerritos College is unable to provide personal mobility assistance, so we recommend bringing someone who can help with mobility needs.

 Parking spaces are limited and available on a first come first served basis.

Plan to walk a distance

Attendees should be prepared to walk from the parking lot to the venue. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and allowing extra time to arrive.

Directions to Cerritos College

From Downtown Los Angeles
Take I-5 South to I-605 South, exit I-605 at Alondra Blvd, turn left on Alondra Blvd, take Alondra Blvd East. The college will be on the right just past Studebaker Road.

From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Take I-105 East to I-605 South, exit I-605 at Alondra Blvd, turn left on Alondra Blvd, take Alondra Blvd East.

From John Wayne Airport (Orange County)
Take I-405 North to I-605 North, exit I-605 at Alondra Blvd, turn right on Alondra Blvd, take Alondra Blvd East.

Photography on Commencement Day

We ask that all guests are considerate of other guests seated around them. Please do not stay standing in the seating area and do not block the view of other guests.

Do not gather at the rails or in the aisles to take a photos of your graduate. You will be asked to return to your seat or exit the event.

Guests are not allowed onto the field for any reason. Guests may meet their graduates, outside the stadium, after the ceremony has concluded.

Professional Photography

Photographers will be available at graduate check-in to take formal portrait photos.

All graduates will also have their photo taken as they cross and exit the stage, and return to their seats.

After checking in for the ceremony, graduates will be asked to complete the photographers’ contact form. A color proof and ordering information will be mailed to graduates once the photos are ready.

Media Release

By attending Commencement, participants and guests grant permission to Cerritos College, its employees, and its agents to capture and use visual and/or audio images of them. Cerritos College will own these images and all associated rights. The images may be used in any form or media without prior notification. All participants waive the right to review or approve the images and understand that they will not receive compensation for their use. Participants also release Cerritos College, its employees, and its agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the recording or use of these visual and/or audio images.

Graduates Requesting Accommodations

If you require disability accommodations contact Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at (562) 860-2451, ext. 2335; (562) 274-7164 (VP) a minimum of two weeks prior to commencement ceremony.

Accessible Field Level Seating

In addition to general wheelchair seating in the grandstand, guests who use wheelchairs, walkers, or power-scooters may opt to be seated on the track the day of the event, along with one companion.  The rest of the party will need to find seats in the general guest seating area. Please plan accordingly. Accessible field level seating is available both sides of the stadium. This space is limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis. 

American Sign Language Interpreters

ASL interpreters will be located on the home side of the stage and guest seating will be available near the stage (on the home side only) for those who need access to view the interpreters.

Braille Programs

A limited number of programs will be available at the entrance in large print and Braille.

  • Carpool to the ceremony.
  • Arrive early.
  • Each ceremony will run approximately two hours including name reading.
  • After the ceremony, designate a meeting place with your graduate outside of the stadium.
  • Please dress comfortably. There may be lengthy walks on uneven pavement.
  • Please leave pets at home. Only service animals are permitted on campus.
  • The streets surrounding the campus will be heavily congested. To avoid traffic and parking lot congestion, we encourage guests to arrive early and park in lot 10, which can be accessed through 166th street.

A livestream will be available for family and friends to view.
