Campus Comes Together with Third Annual Falcon Day
The third annual campus-wide professional development event Falcon Day on November 6 featured topics including academic, health, and work-from-home strategies. Keynote Speaker Dr. Scott Poland focused on managing anxiety related to COVID-19 and modeling coping for co-workers, students, and families. Dr. Dilcie Perez, Dr. Elizabeth Miller, Damon Cagnolatti, and Rebecca Pang led an insightful panel discussion on managing conversations about race.
Alumna Helping People with Disabilities
Elyse Ares attended Cerritos College as a dual enrollment student while she was in high school at Christ Heritage Academy in Bellflower. Elyse graduated with an A.A. in psychology in 2008, and transferred to CSUDH where she began working as a special education student worker at Bellflower USD. She later obtained her B.A. from CSUDH, and earned a master’s in special education at Whittier College. Elyse was recently appointed to the City of Long Beach Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Disabilities. As a commissioner, she will serve a two-year term providing recommendations and resources on issues affecting people with disabilities in many areas.
NASA at Cerritos College Open for All Majors!
NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars program (NCAS) is a national program run by NASA exclusively for community college students and it is an excellent way to get your foot in the door! Flu Shots Available at the Student Health Center
