Monica Castro named Employee of the Month of September 2026
The Board of Trustees honored Monica Castro, Facilities Scheduling Specialist from
the Facilities Department, as Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the
Month for September 2026.
Monica Castro was hired as a full-time employee 26 years ago and was a part of the Teacher TRAC program since its inception. She went on to dedicate 25 years of service to the department now known as Educational Partnerships and Programs.
Monica stepped into a position with nearly 40 years of history and responsibility
behind it. With such significant expectations, she has embraced the challenge with
professionalism, enthusiasm, and an impressive commitment to positive change.
As one of the department’s primary points of contact, she represents both Facilities
and Cerritos College to students, employees, vendors, and community members. She serves
as an important liaison between Facilities and the campus community and plays a key
role in coordinating events and ensuring that they come together seamlessly.
Monica's customer service is exceptional. She is dependable, reliable, and consistently
delivers work of the highest standard. Her positive attitude, professionalism, and
charisma have also made a meaningful impact on the department and those who work alongside
her.
