Meet student speaker Anais Gomez: the 67th Commencement on May 23

Meet our commencement speaker, Anais Gomez! Raised in Santa Fe Springs by strong women, she learned the values of independence and resilience. After graduating from Bishop Amat Memorial High School in 2014, she briefly attended Mt. SAC for nursing but shifted to full-time retail. Her father's tragic death in 2018 motivated her to re-engage with education. Hear her story at the Commencement Ceremony on May 23!

Student Anahi Mireles wins Taco Bell Foundation Scholarship to advance adaptive technology

Cerritos College student Anahi Mireles was awarded a $10,000 Live Más Scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation, recognizing her passion for engineering and advocacy for individuals with disabilities. Students participated in Battery Workforce Challenge

Cerritos College-CSULA student team secures sixth place and two awards in Battery Workforce Challenge

The automotive and mechanical engineering students excelled at the second-year competition of the Battery Workforce Challenge earlier this month. Collaborating with students from California State University, Los Angeles, the team secured sixth place and received two awards: the Spirit of the Challenge award and the Thermal Cooling Synergy award. The three-year competition challenges twelve universities and vocational schools from North America to design, build, test, and integrate an advanced electric vehicle (EV) battery pack into a production Stellantis vehicle. Psychology students present novel research at national convention

Psychology students Marco Perez, Noe Watson, Melany Aguilar, Freddy Torres, Paolo Patag, Shyanne Ainsworth, and Julie Molina attended the Western Psychological Association (WPA) Conference in Las Vegas from May 1 to May 4. Cerritos Community College District (“District”) is inviting all interested licensed contractors who wish to formally bid on construction projects at the District to be prequalified for select trades.
