LA Times features Cerritos College as a top stand-out with ROI

Cerritos College was featured by the Los Angeles Times as the top college in Los Angeles County and the 10th best in California for return on investment (ROI) in higher education. The article was based on the report by the College Futures Foundation and The HEA Group, which indicates that Cerritos College outperforms other two-year public institutions, with graduates recouping their investment in as little as two months. Cerritos College celebrates 70 years of excellence with Rev’d Up Since ’55

Cerritos College hosted an unforgettable celebration to mark its 70th anniversary on September 19. The event, aptly named Rev’d Up Since ’55, kicked into high gear with an impressive car show, a live DJ playing great music, and exciting activities for the kids. The college also honored the remarkable contributions of proud alum and former Congresswoman Grace Napolitano by awarding her the first-ever Cerritos College Excellence in Public Service Award. Hispanic Heritage event

Hispanic Heritage Month celebration explores Latin art

The 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month luncheon, hosted by Human Resources on September 18, kicked off the beginning of a month-long celebration. Attendees were thrilled to welcome guest presenters from the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), who brought the spirit of Latin culture to life. The event was filled with vibrant Latin artists and engaging, hands-on art activities that sparked creativity and joy. And, to top it all off, the Culinary Arts Department treated everyone to a delicious feast of Latin American cuisine. Stay tuned for more Hispanic Heritage Month events.

Chinese Club meeting

Counselors share insights from trip to China with Chinese Club

Counselors Dr. Lynn Wang and Dr. Chelena Fisher shared their experiences from the Language and Culture Camp in China this summer during the Chinese Club meeting on September 10. After their presentation, they addressed students' questions about the camp, opportunities for studying and working in China, and cultural differences between the East and West. Students enjoyed hearing their firsthand experiences and inspiring stories, which motivated them to consider joining a future Language and Culture Camp or visiting fascinating cultural and historical sites in China.

Citizenship

Support democracy and students' path to U.S. citizenship

Please donate to support our students' path to citizenship. Donations will be used to cover our students' citizenship application fees. Write out a check to the Cerritos College Foundation or donate online. The Continuing Education Division is hosting free citizenship legal clinics on Sunday, September 28, and Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center.
