Native American and Indigenous Studies Program
Native American and Indigenous Studies explores both the historic and contemporary
experience of the indigenous people of North, Central, and South America, including
diasporic and mestizo identities, as well as immigrant and refugee histories. This
program examines subjects ranging from cultural production and representation to history,
law. economics, sustainability, politics, language, and literature.

Students will take part in learning experiences including field trips, research projects, service learning, and activism to grow their understanding of Indigenous communities. This program seeks to build knowledge of the lived experiences and cultural complexities of Native American and Indigenous people and inspire empathy for their shared pursuit of social justice.
