Areté: (Ancient Greek: ἀρετή), excellence of any kind; the act of living up to one's full potential.
Areté offers academic support to students enrolled in philosophy classes in the areas of:
- Writing philosophy papers
- Reading primary sources
- Reviewing Logic concepts relevant to logic classes
- Guiding students in completion of homework
Drop by on an as-needed basis for help!
Arete is offered in the fall and spring semesters (No summer hours at this time).
Areté is the tutoring center just for Philosophy! Stop by and get help with reading, writing, and logic.
Hours:
For Fall 2026, Arete will open for philosophy tutoring on Sept 8th on the following days and times:
Mon & Tues: 9:30 am to 11:30 am in SS-16 (in the basement of Social Science) and online
Wed: 4pm to 6pm online only
